You can create a new thing definition based on an existing thing
definition.

Click Developer and then
on the Developer page, click Thing definitions.

Click the Clone icon of
the thing definition you want to copy.
Note:
Cloning a thing definition, clones the attributes, alarms, properties,
methods, tunnels, locations and firmware associated with the thing
definition.

In the Key box on the Adding Thing
Definition page, type an identifier for the thing definition that
is globally unique within the organization.
The valid characters for a key are letters, numbers,
underscore (_), and hyphen
(-).

In the Name box, change the name for the thing
definition.

(Optional) Change alarms, attributes, location, methods, and
properties as needed, and then click Add.
The new thing definition is created.

(Optional) On the Editing thing definition page, change
the presentation characteristics as needed, and then click
Update.

To finish, click Cancel.
The new thing definition appears on the Thing Definitions page.
If any things that used the original thing definition added new attributes or
properties through auto-definition, they are included in the new thing definition
and appear with the auto: prefix.
