Defining Firmware

The Firmware tab is used to define the versions of the firmware.

You can upload the firmware as a file, input a URL or customize your input.

  1. On the Developer page, click Thing definitions.
  2. On the Thing Definitions page, click the Edit icon of the thing definition you want to modify.
  3. On the thing definition editing page, select the Standard tab, and then select the Firmware tab.

  4. Select Firmware version, and then type or select the values for the new firmware version.

    Field

    Description

    Name

    The name of the firmware version that is displayed on Management Portal pages.

    File type

    From the File type drop-down list select the source of the firmware.

    • File: Choose a file from the File drop-down list.

    • URL: Enter a URL of the Firmware.

    • Custom: Enter a string that is relevant to the device you want to update.

    Requires

    The minimum firmware version required for the update.

    Version

    The version number of the firmware.
  5. Repeat steps as needed to define new firmware versions.
  6. When you finish, click Add.
