Viewing the Properties of a Thing

If a thing has one or more properties defined, property information appears on the thing details page and you can view detailed information about each property in graph or table form.

The appearance of the graphs on the thing details page depends on the presentation configured in the thing definition.

To view hourly or daily calculations for individual properties, Calculate aggregates must be specified as true in the property definition of the thing definition. For more information, see Defining Properties.

  1. On the thing details page, click the name of the property you want to view.
    On the property page, the data appears by default in graph form.
  2. (Optional) To filter the data by date and time, select a date in the Start and End menus.
  3. (Optional) To show the historical data, select Series > History, and then click Show.
  4. (Optional) To show data calculated according to the available formulas, select a value other than History from the Series menu, select the type of data to show from the Calculation menu, and then click Show.

  5. To change the graph view, do any of the following:
    1. To zoom in and out, rotate the mouse wheel.
    2. To adjust the time interval, scroll through the intervals shown below the graph.
    3. To overlay alarm data on the data, select an alarm from the Alarms menu.
  6. (Optional) To view the data in table form, select the Table tab and perform any of steps 2 through 4 to change the range and type of data shown.
