Viewing and Updating the Location Information of a Thing

If a thing reports location information, you can view the current location and add or change the location information.

You can view the location on the map, view the location history in table and map format, and view the geofence history. You can also view the history of any alarms that align with the location on the map. The arrow displayed on the map matches the color of the alarm. To display the alarm information, move the mouse pointer over the location display.

  1. If location information is available on the thing details page, select the address in the Location field.
Device Cloud - Thing Page Location Link

  8. In the Publish Location window, type values in either the Latitude and Longitude text boxes or in the Address boxes.
  9. Click Publish location.

The location information appears as a link in the Location field on the Overview page of the thing. Click the link to show the location on a map.

If the thing transmits location information after you update it manually, the position reported by the thing takes precedence unless the source of the location information the thing reports is listed in the fix types to ignore in the thing definition.
