User Management

Access to the features of Device Cloud through the Management Portal is controlled by an individual user accounts.

Under the Profiles tab on the Users page, you can see the users that are members of the current organization.

A user is identified by their email address when they log in to the Management Portal.

Each user has role within the organization that specifies the permissions that enable the features and functions when the user logs in to the Management Portal. Your organization defines the roles that it uses to define the permissions for the users in the organization. A user can be a member of multiple organizations and have different roles in each organization.

The information displayed on the Users page is for the current organization. If you are a member of multiple organizations and need to view the users in a different organization, select the current organization (WRPUBS in this example), then select one of your other organizations.

From the Users page, you can view, edit, and delete a user, and configure the columns that are shown.

When you delete a user, the user is removed from the current organization, but not deleted completely from Device Cloud. If the user is a member of other organizations, their account is not affected.

You can edit the profile details and the tags assigned to the user. Individuals can manage a subset of their account settings. For more information, see Updating Your User Profile.

User accounts can have tags associated with them to limit which users are displayed in the list.

In the diagram above, the tag example has been added to the user accounts for this organization. To limit the list of users that appear on the page, click one or more tags. This example shows the example tag applied. To remove the view filter, click x beside the tag name.

User Invitations

To view user invitations, from the Users page, select the Invitations tab. This page displays the new users that have been invited to register with Device Cloud and this organization, but have not yet completed the registration process.
