You define an application in Device Cloud to create an application token and enable
software applications to connect to Device Cloud using the application token.
You need organization administrator privileges.
To specify the thing definition for auto-registration, the thing
definition must already exist.
To assign a role, the role must already exist.

Click Developer, and
then on the Developer page, click Applications.

On the Applications page, click New Application.

In the Name box, type the name of the
application to appear on the Management Portal pages.

(Optional) In the Description box, type a description of
the application.

(Optional) From the Auto Registration Thing Definition
ID menu, select the thing definition to use for automatic
registration.
If you select None, only things that
are created from within the portal or previously connected to the portal can
connect using this application token.

(Optional) In the Auto Registration Tags and
Auto Registration Security Tags boxes, type or select
the tags to apply to things when they register with using the application
token.

To specify the application permissions, do one of the following:

To give the application the organization administration
role, select the Org Admin check
box.

Type the name of one or more roles defined in the
organization.

Leave the default value for the License entry.

Click Add.
