Installing the Plugin on MAC OS X

You can download and install the plugin on your MAC OS X operating system.

To install the plugin on a MAC OS X 10.10 or later operating system, do the following:

  1. In your browser's address bar, type the URL you were given when you received your Device Cloud account, and then on the Sign In page, type your user name and password in the boxes.
  2. If the device you want to access is not connected to your default organization, select Switch organization on the LaunchPad and select the organization to which your device is connected.

  3. Click Remote Access.

  4. On the Remote Device Access page, click the Connect icon of the device to which you want to connect.

  5. Note:

    You can connect to a device through a secure tunnel using one of the protocols from the Connection Type drop-down list. For example, see, Creating a Secure Tunnel for an SSH Connection.

    In the Connect window, click CONNECT. If this is the first time you started a secure tunnel, the Download Plugin window opens. LaunchPad detects the operating system on which your web browser runs.
  6. Click DOWNLOAD PLUGIN.

    For unsigned applications, click on the link "Click here for instructions to install the plugin on your Mac OS X".

  7. The dra-release-osx-OSVersion.dmg file begins downloading.
  8. Open your Downloads directory and double-click the file name, or click the file name in your browser download bar, and select Open.

    Depending on what browser you use, you may need to save the file first.

  9. In the Install DeviceRemoteAccess window, select Introduction and you will be guided through the steps necessary to install the plugin.

  10. Click Close on successful installation of the plugin.
  11. In the Download Plugin window, click CONNECT.

    The Device Remote Access service starts on your Mac OS X host and is configured to start when the system starts.
