Host and Target Requirements
Host and target support for Device Cloud agent and user interfaces are based on the capabilities and tools of the operating environments.
Python Agent
The Device Cloud Python agent runs on any operating system that supports Python 2.7.9 and later and Python 3.4 and later. You must install Python separately on development computers and target devices.
C Agent
The Device Cloud C agent is supported on Ubuntu 16.04. Application development is supported using the standard versions of gcc, glibc, and make. Other C compilers should also work.
Application development with the C agent is supported on the same host operating systems as VxWorks 7. For information about supported development hosts for VxWorks 7, go to VxWorks 7 Getting Started and see the latest version of the VxWorks 7 Release Notes.
The C agent runs on processor architectures and devices supported by VxWorks 7. For information about supported targets, see VxWorks 7 Processor & Device Support.
Remote Access
To remotely access a device through the Device Console link on the LaunchPad, you must install and run a Telnet server separately on your target device.
To connect to a device through a secure tunnel created through the Remote Access link on the LaunchPad, you must install and run the client application on a Windows 32-bit or 64-bit system, Linux 64-bit version of Linux, (Debian or RPM), and Mac OS X 10.10 or later.
On the device, you must install and run the required server program.
VNC clients and servers must conform to remote framebuffer protocol (RFB) version 3.8.
For more details about the complete list of requirements for remote access, see the Device Cloud Remote Access User's Guide.
